Madagascar's Participation in the SADC Regional Dialogue on Mining Crime

SAMIFIN - FIU Madagascar participated, alongside BIANCO Madagascar, the National Police, and the Directorate General of Customs of Madagascar, in the SADC Regional Dialogue on combating mining crime, organized by UNODC, held from March 9 to 11, 2026, in Gaborone, Botswana.

During this event, the Operational Legal Director of SAMIFIN - FIU Madagascar presented a concrete case study on gold mining crime and illicit financial flows in Madagascar.

This contribution enriched discussions among member states and strengthened regional cooperation in the face of a growing transnational threat.
