OMNIS : A partnership to attract investments in strategic mines and industries in Madagascar

OMNIS and SAMIFIN met in Ambohijanaka to strengthen their collaboration and discuss how their joint efforts can improve Madagascar's attractiveness for foreign investment, particularly in the mining and extractive industries sectors.

During this meeting, the two institutions discussed their respective roles: OMNIS, in charge of managing the country's mining and industrial resources, and SAMIFIN, responsible for combating money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT). It was stressed that their close cooperation is essential to ensure transparent, secure and efficient management of these strategic sectors, while protecting the Malagasy economy from illicit transactions.

One of the main objectives of this collaboration is to strengthen Madagascar's attractiveness as a destination for foreign investment. By ensuring transparent and secure governance in strategic (extractive) mines and industries, these sectors will become drivers of economic development for the country.

The next step in this collaboration is the signing of a cooperation agreement between OMNIS and SAMIFIN, a concrete commitment to a lasting partnership, focused on economic development and transparency of strategic sectors in Madagascar.
