2nd Edition of AML Prevention Day

The University of Antananarivo hosted the second edition of the AML Prevention Day, a key event to address the major issues related to fraud and tax evasion. Organized by SAMIFIN in partnership with the three faculties of the University of Antananarivo #EGS, #FDSP, #FLSH, this event is funded by the European Union through the SecFin Africa project.

This year's theme, "The 2020 edition of the ... 2023, the amount related to tax fraud has exceeded 423 millions USD highlighting the scale of the challenge we face. This sector is particularly risky in terms of money laundering, which makes a collective commitment to effectively combat these practices all the more necessary.

In their speeches, HE Roland Kobia, Ambassador of the European Union to Madagascar and the Union of the Comoros and Mr. Mamitiana RAJAONARISON, Director General of SAMIFIN, both stressed the importance of coordinated action to reduce the risks associated with money laundering, particularly those generated by fraud and tax evasion. These speeches highlighted the need to strengthen efforts at all levels to combat this phenomenon.

The communication presented by researchers, academics and professionals are very useful in providing innovative ideas and strengthening the effectiveness of AML/CFT. These contributions not only allow knowledge to be shared but also explore new avenues to better combat these harmful practices.

The event will continue until February 20, with an award ceremony for the best communications that will close this second edition.

A big thank you to all the speakers, participants and organizers for their contribution to this essential fight!
